Manipulating Annotations

Synapse provides annotation context menus. These menus are similar for the different types of annotations except text. The context menu for text has different options.

When you click an existing annotation, white squares appear on the annotation. Move these white squares, as shown in the following example, to resize an annotation:

You also have the option of dragging the measurement or text boxes to a different location on the image.

Context Menu Options for Ruler, ROI Shapes, CTR, and Arrow

Introduction

Once you have created an annotation, you can move, change the measurement units, or delete the annotation with the annotation context menu. Annotations include ruler, ROI shapes, Cardiothoracic Ratio (CTR), and arrow.

Steps

Right-click the annotation. Synapse displays the annotations context menu.
Do any of the following:

If you want to ...	Do this ...
Copy the text.	Click Copy text.
Calibrate the ruler.	See Calibrating the Ruler.
Delete the annotation.	If in edit mode, press the DELETE key. or Right-click the annotation and select DELETE.
Change the measurement units.	Select either Millimeter, Centimeter, or Inch.
Resize an annotation.	Click the annotation to enter edit mode. Click and hold a square or circle on the annotation. Drag the pointer until the annotation is the correct size.
Rotate a circle and elliptical annotation.	Click the annotation to enter edit mode. Click and hold a circle on the annotation. Rotate the annotation either clockwise or counter clockwise.
Move the annotation.	Select the annotation anywhere except on a white square. Drag to the desired location.

Introduction

You can move, delete, or change the text information.

Steps

Right-click the text. Synapse displays the text context menu.
Manipulate the text using any of the following options:

If you want to ...	Do this ...
Delete the text.	Select DELETE.
Copy the text.	Select Copy text.
Move the text.	Left-click the text. Drag text to another location.
Change the text.	Double-click the text and change the text. Click outside the text annotation when you are finished.
