Configuring Mouse Settings

Introduction

You can configure the mouse buttons in several ways:

  • Change the mouse button shortcuts to window level, Zoom, Pan, Dynamic Scroll-Rapid, Dynamic Scroll-Standard or Dynamic Scroll-Precision.
  • Change the middle button drag to window level, Zoom, Pan, Dynamic Scroll-Rapid, Dynamic Scroll-Standard or Dynamic Scroll-Precision. Dynamic Scroll-Standard is the default option for middle button drag.
  • Change the middle button click setting to Mouse Flythrough, Dynamic Scroll-Rapid, Dynamic Scroll-Standard, or Dynamic Scroll-Precision.
  • Assign mouse directions for custom window level operations.
    The default for window level is right-click drag.

Steps

  1. To access User Settings, do one of the following:

If you want to do this...

Complete these steps...

Open User Settings from the Viewer.

Right-click User Settings .

Open User Settings from the Worklist.

Click  User Settings on the Worklist toolbar.

Open User Settings from PowerJacket.

Click  User Settings on the PowerJacket toolbar.

  1. Click Image Display and select Mouse.
  2. From the Mouse button shortcuts drop-down box, choose one:

If you want to do this...

Choose this option...

Hold the left-mouse button and click the right mouse button to cycle through window level, zoom, and pan.

Select WL/Zoom/Pan.

Hold the left-mouse button and click the right mouse button to cycle through window level, zoom, pan, and scroll.

Select one of the following options:

  • WL/Zoom/Pan/Dynamic Scroll-Rapid
  • WL/Zoom/Pan/Dynamic Scroll-Standard
  • WL/Zoom/Pan/Dynamic Scroll-Precision
  1. From the Left button drag drop-down list, choose one:

Click the left mouse button and select either Dynamic Scroll-Rapid, Dynamic Scroll-Standard, or Dynamic Scroll-Precision.

  • Drag to Swap
  • Drag to Copy

  • Dynamic Scroll-Rapid
  • Dynamic Scroll-Standard
  • Dynamic Scroll-Precision

  1. From the Right button drag drop-down list, choose one:

Click the right mouse button and select either Dynamic Scroll-Rapid, Dynamic Scroll-Standard, or Dynamic Scroll-Precision.

Select from the following options:

  • Window Level
  • Zoom
  • Pan
  • Dynamic Scroll-Rapid
  • Dynamic Scroll-Standard
  • Dynamic Scroll-Precision

  1. The Enable lightning wheel scroll option, which is selected by default, ensures that scrolling using the mouse wheel is smoother. To disable the Enable lightning wheel scroll option, go to User Settings > Image Display > Mouse and clear the check box for this setting.

Results

Synapse automatically saves any updated options and displays the following message in the bottom left corner of the window: Successfully saved.

Synapse displays the following message to alert you that an action must be taken for the settings to apply: Refresh the Synapse browser window for settings to apply.
