Configuring Mouse and Drag Behavior

Introduction

You can customize the behavior of the left, middle, and right mouse buttons to fit your needs.

For example, you can select Drag to Swap for the left mouse button so you do not have to use the image context menu for swap.

Note:

  • Select Tools > Apply to All Images in the Viewer context menu to apply window level, zoom, and pan to the series.
  • Select Tools > Apply to Selected Images in the Viewer context menu to apply window level, zoom, and pan to the selected image or images.

Steps

  1. To access User Settings, do one of the following:

Complete these steps...

Open User Settings from the Viewer.

Right-click User Settings .

Open User Settings from the Worklist.

Click  User Settings on the Worklist toolbar.

Open User Settings from PowerJacket.

Click  User Settings on the PowerJacket toolbar.

  1. Click Image Display and select Mouse.
  2. From the Left button drag drop-down box, choose one of the following:

If you want to do this...

Choose this option...

Use the left mouse button and drag to swap an image between viewports.

Select Drag to Swap.

Use the left mouse button and drag to copy an image between viewports.

Select Drag to Copy.

Use the left mouse button and drag to replace an image between viewports.

Select Drag to Replace.

Use the left mouse button and drag to window level an image or series.

Select Window Level.

Use the left mouse button and drag to zoom an image or series.

Select Zoom.

Use the left mouse button and drag to pan an image or series.

Select Pan.

Use the left mouse button and drag to scroll through a series with Dynamic Scroll-Rapid, Dynamic Scroll-Precision, or Dynamic Scroll-Standard.

Note: Dynamic Scroll-Rapid and Dynamic Scroll-Standard might skip images with large mouse movements.

Select one of the following:

  • Dynamic Scroll-Rapid
  • Dynamic Scroll-Precision
  • Dynamic Scroll-Standard
 
  1. From the Middle button drag drop-down box, choose one of the following:

Use the middle mouse button and drag to window level an image or series.

Select Window Level.

Use the middle mouse button and drag to zoom an image or series.

Select Zoom.

Use the middle mouse button and drag to pan an image or series.

Select Pan.

Use the middle mouse button and drag to scroll through a series with dynamic scroll.

Note: Dynamic Scroll-Rapid and Dynamic Scroll-Standard might skip images with large mouse movements. Dynamic Scroll-Standard is the default option for middle button drag.

Select one of the following:

  • Dynamic Scroll-Rapid
  • Dynamic Scroll-Precision
  • Dynamic Scroll-Standard
  1. From the Right button drag drop-down box, choose one of the following:

Use the right mouse button and drag to window level an image or series.

Select Window Level.

Use the right mouse button and drag to zoom an image or series.

Select Zoom.

Use the right mouse button and drag to pan an image or series.

Select Pan.

Use the right mouse button and drag to scroll through a series with dynamic scroll.

Note: Dynamic Scroll-Rapid and Dynamic Scroll-Standard might skip images with large mouse movements.


Select one of the following:

  • Dynamic Scroll-Rapid
  • Dynamic Scroll-Precision
  • Dynamic Scroll-Standard

Select one of the following:

  • Dynamic Scroll-Rapid
  • Dynamic Scroll-Precision
  • Dynamic Scroll-Standard

Results

Note:

When you customize drag options for the left, middle, or right mouse button for pan options, you cannot use the ALT key for pan delta.

Synapse automatically saves any updated options and displays the following message in the bottom left corner of the window: Successfully saved.

Synapse displays the following message to alert you that an action must be taken for the settings to apply: Refresh the Synapse browser window for settings to apply.
