Using Anywhere Series Picker in the Viewer

Introduction

In some cases, Synapse users want to use as much of the window as possible to display the images they are viewing. The Anywhere Series Picker provides an alternative, if you have chosen to hide the Series Picker in the Viewer, but it can also be used in addition to the Series Picker.

Steps

  1. With the Viewer open, click the study icon. The actual study icon you see might be different than the example shown here. See Study Icons
  2. Optional: Do any of the following:

    Complete these steps...

    Open the Series Viewer.
    • Double-click the series.
    • Results
      • The Series Viewer opens.
      • The Anywhere Series Picker remains open.

    Pin the Anywhere Series Picker.
    • Use your mouse to position the Anywhere Series Picker to the preferred location.
    • Place your cursor over the pin icon until the cursor changes to a hand and click the pin icon. The Anywhere Series Picker remains stationary until you unpin it or reload the Viewer.
    • Results:
      • When you click a series in the Anywhere Series Picker, Synapse displays the series in the viewport and the Anywhere Series Picker remains open.
      • When you drag a series from the Anywhere Series Picker into a viewport, the Anywhere Series Picker remains open.

    Unpin the Anywhere Series Picker.
    • Use your mouse to position the Anywhere Series Picker to the preferred location.
    • Place your cursor over the pinned icon until the cursor changes to a hand and click the pin icon. Now you can move the Anywhere Series Picker to another location on the screen.
    • Results:
      • When you click a series in the Anywhere Series Picker, Synapse displays the series in the viewport and the Anywhere Series Picker closes.
      • When you drag a series from the Anywhere Series Picker into a viewport, the Anywhere Series Picker closes.

    Open the Studylist.
    • Click Open Studylist .

    Change the size of the Anywhere Series Picker.
    • Hover on an edge of the AnywhereSeries Picker.
    • Hold down the left mouse button, and drag the AnywhereSeries Picker to your preferred size.

Note:

When you reload a study, Synapse closes the Anywhere Series Picker.

Using the Anywhere Series Picker Studylist

  1. With the Viewer open, click the study icon that displays in the top left corner of each series to open the Anywhere Series Picker.
  2. Click Open Studylist to open the Anywhere Series Picker Studylist.
  • The Studylist opens displaying all of the other studies for the patient.
  • If a study includes a note, report, or document, hover over the icon to display a preview.
  • The current study is selected and highlighted.
  • You can sort, resize, re-order, and remove any of the columns except the check box column.
  1. Select study check boxes to add thumbnails to the Anywhere Series Picker or clear the check boxes to remove the thumbnails.
  2. To add or remove comparison studies, do any of the following.

    If you want to do this...

    Choose this option...

    Select more studies for comparison and assign study icons.

    Select the check box associated with the study you want to add and click the Compare button.

    • Studies you select appear in the Anywhere Series Picker.
    • If you have the Compare option turned on, those thumbnails also display.
    • You can only compare up to six studies, however, you can add as many thumbnails as you want to the Anywhere Series Picker.

    Remove comparison studies.

    Click the Compare Off button to remove the comparison studies from the Viewer.  

    • The selected thumbnails are removed from the Anywhere Series Picker.
    • Study icons assigned to the comparison studies remain associated with the study for the remainder of the session.
