IntelliScroll Overview
Introduction
IntelliScroll synchronizes scrolling of cross-sectional images for CT, PT, MG tomosynthesis, and MR modalities. You can choose from the following options to link series with IntelliScroll:
- Same Frame of Reference (FOR)
- Same orientation
- Image index number
Synapse determines the linked series groups according to the option you choose:
- You can have up to nine different linked groups on the Viewer.
- Synapse uses an IntelliScroll group icon
so you can easily distinguish which series belongs to which group.
For example, if you have two series with the same FOR and another
two series with a different FOR, Synapse does the following:
- Assigns the first series group with
an IntelliScroll group icon
- Assigns the second series group with
an IntelliScroll group icon
- Assigns the first series group with
an IntelliScroll group icon
Images with the same FOR
If you have selected Enable IntelliScroll
option in User Settings, Synapse enables IntelliScroll automatically when
multiple series have the same FOR. By default, Synapse enables IntelliScroll
with the auto link icon 
for series with
the same FOR.
MG Tomosynthesis Images
If you have selected Enable IntelliScroll option in User Settings, Synapse automatically links MG tomosynthesis breast pairs by image index number:
- Synapse links breast modifiers with their modified pair. For example Synapse pairs a RCC ID with a LCC ID.
- Synapse does not synchronize viewports that contain multiple series like stacking, all images, and bookmarked series.
Options for Activating IntelliScroll
You can activate IntelliScroll in the following ways:
- Modify your User Setting to configure IntelliScroll to open automatically when you open a study.
- Use the image context menu, IntelliScroll icons on the image icon menu, or keyboard shortcuts to enable or disable IntelliScroll for a specific study.
Linking Series
You can link series in the following ways:
- For
PT, MG, and MR modalities - Match up current and prior studies by doing the following:
- Use the delta link option to manually line up a series.
- Link images with the option Same Orientation.
- Link images with the option Same FOR. See Enabling IntelliScroll.
- For CT and RG modalities - Use the Image Registration option to automatically line up series for current and historical studies. See Automatically Registering CT and RG Series .
