How Synapse Determines Which Studies Are Priors

Introduction

Synapse uses auto-compare rules to determine which other studies for that patient are potential candidates for comparisons (priors). The rules, which are configurable within User Settings, specify the following:

  • The number of candidate studies that are designated as priors determines which reading protocol Synapse uses to display the studies.
  • Filtering criteria to determine which studies are candidate comparisons such as the same procedure code.

The Auto Compare settings further refine the criteria for priors.
