Choosing PowerJacket Settings

Introduction

You can modify your PowerJacket settings from anywhere in Synapse that displays the User Settings icon. Decide which Information pane to display by default, whether to show reports automatically, and which report Viewer application will be your default.  

Steps

  1. Click User Settings located on the top right of the screen. Select PowerJacket - MDS from the options list. (MDS stands for multi-data source)
  2. Click the drop-down arrow for the Default display in PowerJacket Information pane and select the default option you want to display in the PowerJacket Information pane. (You can switch from your default view to another view in PowerJacket at any time by clicking the drop-down arrow in the Information pane.) The left pane displays the current information and the right pane displays comparison study information. Options include:  
    • Documents (default setting for the first pane)
    • Documents (display Order, if available)
    • Study Info
    • Notes
    • Reports (default setting for the second pane)
    • Structured Reports (typically created by other systems)
    • SynComm
    • 3D (if your site is configured for this option)
    • Third-Party URL configurations (if your site is configured for this option)

Note:

The option for Documents (display Order if available) is only available for the First (current) Information pane.

  1. Select the Show Report instead of selection, if it exists check box to view the associated report each time you open a study.
    • This setting is selected by default.
    • When you select this setting, the Information pane will always display the study's report, regardless of the default pane you identified in the previous step.
    • If the study does not have a report associated with it, your default selection from the previous step displays.
  1. Click the drop-down arrow for Report viewer application and select which option you will use as your default Viewer. Options include Report and Result Manager (if your site is configured for this option).
  2. Select the Show PJ address bar option to display the URL bar, as well as the home, bookmarks, and settings icons.
  3. In the Configure Data Source area, select or clear the preferred check box to select or change the preferred data source or sources for Global Worklists and COMMONVIEW. 
  4. Synapse automatically saves any updated options and displays the following message in the bottom left corner of the window: Successfully saved. Click Close to close the User Settings page.

Note:

  • Clear the check box for any data source you want to exclude as an option. You can clear all options but your home data source.
  • The modifications you make to the available data sources affect the data sources used for COMMONVIEW.
