Setting Study Permissions

Introduction

With appropriate permissions, you can use the Security feature found in the context menu of any studies-based Worklist to grant or revoke access to a study. Access can be established by role, individual user, or both. This feature is helpful in providing limited access to a study intended only for a specific group of users.

Steps

  1. Right-click the preferred study from any studies-based Worklist to access the context menu.
  2. Click to select Set Permissions. The Security dialog box opens.
  3. Do one of the following:

If you want to do this...

Choose this option...

Grant or revoke access to an entire group of users, based on role.

Note: You cannot revoke access to yourself.

  • Select the appropriate role from the dialog box.
  • Optional: Click Show Allto display any roles that should not be restricted.

Grant or revoke access to an individual.

Note:

  • Use this option when there are individuals who are exceptions to the group to which you want to grant or revoke access.
  • You can grant or revoke study access to as many individuals as necessary, but only one at a time.
  • Place your cursor in the text field below the Users and Roles heading.
  • Note: User names display by login name in alphabetical order. Scroll to or type the last name you want to add.
  1. Select either Allow or Deny.
  2. Click Save and Close if you are finished, click Save to continue, or click Cancel to close the Security dialog box without saving your work.

Results

If you have revoked access to a study, that study is no longer visible (in the Worklist) to the group or user.
