Organizing Reading Protocol Steps

Introduction

Depending on the reading protocol, Synapse might display multiple reading protocol steps. You can add, rename, delete, or organize the reading protocol steps.

  • When you copy a reading protocol step, Synapse uses the same page layout as the original reading protocol step.
  • Synapse validates the reading protocol step names so that no two steps have the same name.
  • For more information on how Synapse organizes reading protocols, see Reading Protocol Hierarchy.

Steps

  1. Click the reading protocol step drop-down menu located on the Viewer toolbar. This drop-down menu contains the reading protocol steps for the selected study.
  2. Select Organize Steps. A dialog box displays.
  3. Select a reading protocol step and do any of the following:

Display the same series in multiple steps.

Note: This option is only available in the Reading Protocol Editor from the Viewer.

  • Select the Reset Series Display Status button.

Display all series in multiple steps.

Note: This option is only available in the Reading Protocol Editor from the Viewer.

  • Select the Continue Series Display Status from previous step button.

Add a reading protocol step.
  • Right-click the selected reading protocol step.
  • Select Copy step.

Rename a reading protocol step.
  • Right-click the selected reading protocol step.
  • Select Rename step.
  • Type the new name of the reading protocol step.

Delete a reading protocol step.

Note: You cannot delete the last reading protocol step.
  • Right-click the selected reading protocol step.
  • Select Delete step.
  • Select Yes to delete the reading protocol step.

Reorder the reading protocol steps in the list.
  • Select the reading protocol step you want to move.
  • Click the arrow to move the reading protocol step.
  1. Click Update.
  2. Save the reading protocol to save your reading protocol steps. See Saving Reading Protocols.

Results

Synapse updates the Viewer with the modified reading protocol step.
