Configuring MG Near Match
Introduction
Configure near match to determine what reading protocols Synapse adds to the reading protocol drop-down list for each study. Near match is available for MG only.
Steps
- To access User Settings, do one of the following:

- In the Reading Protocols tab, select MG Near Match.
- Select Enable near-match in the Near Match panel.
- Do any of the following in the Near-Match Rules panel:

Display matching reading protocols for studies that have the same procedure code, but the number of series can be different as configured in the near match series boundaries.
Select Near-match series, same procedure code.
Display matching reading protocols for studies that ignore procedure codes, but consider near match series boundaries.
Select Any series, same procedure code.
Display reading protocols that ignore procedure code, but the number of series can be different as configured in the near match series boundaries.
Select Near-match series, any procedure code.
- Do any of the following in the Near-Match Series Boundaries panel:
If you want to do this...
Choose this option...
Specify how many additional series can be in a study in order to display that study using a series based reading protocol that has a defined number of series with specific names.
Synapse displays these extra series as additional steps.
Select a number from the drop-down for Number of series more than reading protocol.
Specify how many fewer series can be in a study in order to display that study using a series based reading protocol that has a defined number of series with specific names.
Synapse displays blank viewports for missing series.
Select a number from the drop-down list for Number of series less than reading protocol.
Results
Synapse automatically saves any updated options and displays the following message in the bottom left corner of the window: Successfully saved.
Synapse displays the following message to alert you that an action must be taken for the settings to apply: Refresh the Synapse browser window for settings to apply.
